MPVA holds the UN Forces Participation Day Ceremony on July 27

The ROK Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs holds a commemorative ceremony marking the UN Forces Participation Day on July 27 under the theme of 'Days of Glory'

 

The ceremony, under the theme of 'Days of Glory', will be held at 10 am, on July 27th to express appreciation for the sacrifice and contributions of the UN Korean War veterans, and will be broadcast live on KBS.

The descendants of the UN Korean War veterans currently studying in Korea will be invited to the ceremony, and those who have made significant contributions for the UN Korean War veterans will be awarded by the government. In addition, the names of the UN Korean War veterans who were fallen on the signing day of the Korean War Armistice Agreement will be roll called to make this year's ceremony more meaningful.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA, Minister Park Sam-Duck) said that the government ceremony marking the UN Forces Participation Day will be held at 10 am on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul. It aims to express appreciation for the sacrifice and contributions of 1,950,000 veterans from 22 countries that sent combat forces and fought alongside the Republic of Korea under the auspices of the United Nations during the Korean War, and continue strengthening cooperation and friendly ties with 22 sending states to establish lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
