「International Conference of UN Sending States on Veterans' Issues」 □ The 70th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee said the International Conference of UN Sending States on Veterans' Issues will be held at 14:00 on November 10, 2020 at the Signiel Busan on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. ㅇ The upcoming meeting has been scaled down due to the Covid-19 pandemic while the Ministry had hoped to fly in all 22 ministers of Veterans Affairs to mark the occasion this year. ㅇ The conference, held under the slogan of "Creating the Future Together", aims to serve as a foundation for the Republic of Korea and all 22 UN Sending States to take the friendly relations forged in the crucible of war to the next level and build closer and cooperative relationships to achieve peace and prosperity. ㅇ Among the attendees are Greek Deputy Minister of National Defense Alkiviadis Stefanis and the representatives of the diplomatic corps including the ambassadors of the Sending States to Korea. □ The event will be opened by a 3D hologram show that symbolizes the transformation of the Republic of Korea rising from the ruins of the Korean War with the help and support from the Sending States and achieving remarkable economic development, followed by a moment of silence to honor the UN Korean War veterans, a commemorative speech by Minister Park Sam-duck of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, and a congratulatory remarks by Greek Deputy Minister of National Defense Alkiviadis Stefanis. date | 2020-11-09 | |
