MPVA hosts Memorial Peace Concert Dedicated to UN Veterans of the Korean War

Memorial Peace Concert Dedicated to

UN Veterans of the Korean War

The 70th Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Committee (co-chaired by Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and former Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Kim Eun-gi) said it will host the “Memorial Peace Concert” dedicated to the UN veterans of the Korean War on the eve of the International Memorial Day for UN Veterans of the Korean War (November 11).

The 75-minute concert will be attended by a total of 250 people including Greek Deputy Minister of National Defence Alkiviadis Stefanis, diplomatic corps in Korea, UNC service members, local veterans organizations and students.

Under the slogan of “We Are Here,” the concert takes place in the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, the very special place which has the meaning of “the most glorious days of UN veterans” and “the history of miracles we made together.”

The slogan “We Are Here” refers to the gathering of the UN veterans who rest in peace in Korea, a distant country from their home, and the contemporary Koreans who are living in a prosperous and vibrant Korea built upon the veterans’ noble sacrifice, and the diplomatic corps in Seoul that they are there together, remembering the UN veterans and cherishing their memories.
