Turn Toward Busan International Memorial Ceremony | |
The Turn Toward Busan International Memorial Ceremony will be held in the UNMCK on November 11 at 11 o’clock under the theme of “Moment to be One, Turn Toward Busan.” The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Minister Pi Woo-jin) estimates 1,000 participants to be present at the ceremony including UN Korean War veterans and their families, delegations from embassies and distinguished guests. The Turn Toward Busan International Memorial Ceremony consists of the march of national flags of the UN sending states, the Pledge of Allegiance, 1 minute of silence, remarks by representatives of UN sending states and veterans, and performances. The United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, Korea (UNMCK) is a burial ground for United Nations Command casualties of the Korean War. It contains 2,300 graves and is the only United Nations cemetery in the world. |
