MPVA Holds the First Appreciation Dinner for Families of US POW/MIA | |
The Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affair Pi Woo-jin will host the Appreciation Dinner in Washington D.C., U.S., inviting 418 family members of 214 US POW and MIA who fought in the Korean War. The event will be held for the first time as part of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA)’s Annual Government Briefings for families of personnel missing from the Korean War. Starting from 2015, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs has been inviting the families of POW and MIA to the Revisit Korea Program, which had initially invited UN Korean War veterans only. By doing so, the ministry aims to maintain a strong relationship not only with the UN Korean War veterans but also with their descendants. |
