The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Minister Pi Woo-jin) and the Canadian Embassy to the Republic of Korea will jointly invite 6 special guests from Canada for the torch relay of Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the reenactment of Imjin Classic 2018.

The guests include Dennis Moore and John Bishop who served in Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and Claude Charland who served in the 22e Regiment. Both Moore and Charland played in the original inter-regiment hockey matches on the Imjin River during the Korean War.

The Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Pi Woo-jin, in particular, will participate in the Puck Drop ceremony during the reenactment of Imjin Classic 2018. 

The itinerary of the visit is as follows.

January 17: Arrival
January 18: tribute to Seoul National Cemetery, banquet hosted by Canadian Embassy
January 19: reenactment of Imjin 2018
January 20: visit to National Museum of Korea, Welcome Luncheon, cultural activities
January 21: visit to War Memorial, Korean Folk Village
January 22: Departure
