Meritorious Service Record
In August 1905, Huang Xing played a crucial role in drafting the charter of the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance (中國同盟會), a secret society founded by Sun Yat-sen (孫文) in Tokyo, and served as its Executive Secretary.
Huang Xing maintained close relationships with Korean independence activists and actively supported their anti-Japanese resistance efforts. In December 1912, Park Eun-sik (朴殷植) wrote to Ahn Chang-ho (安昌浩), mentioning the kindness and assistance offered by Huang Xing and other Chinese revolutionaries.
In July 1914, while serving as the Chairman of the Korean National Association in North America, Lee Dae-wi (李大爲) and Ahn Chang-ho met with Huang Xing during his visit to the United States to seek advice on Korea’s independence movement. Huang Xing advised them:
"When your countrymen undertake a major endeavor, they should learn from the failure of China’s Second Revolution and ensure that everything is thoroughly prepared before launching a movement."
The Second Revolution Huang Xing referred to was the failed uprising against Yuan Shikai (袁世凱) after he became President of China and established a dictatorship. Having experienced this failure firsthand, Huang Xing warned Korean independence activists to avoid making the same mistakes in their struggle against Japanese rule.
The South Korean government posthumously awarded him the Order of Merit for National Foundation (Presidential Medal) in 1968.
