- The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will invited the descendants of the UN Korean War veterans from 15 nations from June 30, 2019 to July 6, 2019 (6 nights and 7 days). The participants will be able to forge friendship with Korean university students and deepen their understanding of Korean culture.
- The descendants of the UN Korean War veterans will visit the Seoul National Cemetery, War Memorial of Korea, and DMZ and they will also be able to experience Korean culture firsthand. In addition, a Korean drama will begin shooting on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the ROK-PHL bilateral relations.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Minister Pi Woo-jin) said the "2019 Peace Camp will be held in KB Securities Campus from June 30, 2019 to July 6, 2019 in order to pass on the legacy of the UN Korean War veterans to the future generations."

70 descendants of the UN Korean War veterans from 15 UN sending states and 44 Korean university students (in total 114 participants) will be invited to the 2019 Peace Camp.

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs first hosted the Peace Camp in 2009 in order to strengthen Korea's friendship with the UN sending states by spreading the awareness of the special relationship that Korea shares with the UN sending states on the occasion of the Korean War to the future generations. This year marks the 11th year of the Peace Camp and a total of 1,883 participants have been invited to Korea as of 2018.
During the Peace Camp, the participants will pay tribute in the Seoul National Cemetery, attend the Opening Ceremony, visit the War Memorial of Korea and DMZ and experience the Korean Wave and culture by taking a tour around Seoul. Through such activities, the participants will be able to see how Korea progressed since the Korean War and deepen their understanding of the Korean culture.

In addition, Mr. Ned P. Forney, the grandson of the hero of the Hungnam Evacuation, late Edward H. Forney, will deliver a lecture on the stories of the Hungnam Evacuation and heartfelt lessons of the love for humanity that was displayed during the war.

Furthermore, the 2019 Peace Camp and the participants will be the background setting for a TV drama called "My Favourite Song," which began its shooting in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the ROK-PHL bilateral relations. The drama is about a young Korean man and a woman from the Philippines falling in love with each other at the Peace Camp. The casts include Kim Gyu Jong (Korea) and Kriesha Chu (the Philippines).

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said that the ministry will "continue to expand international commemoration programs aimed at expressing Korea's appreciation to the UN Korean War veterans who fought to defent freedom and peace of Korea."

In particular, the ministry emphasized that "through the Peace Camp, the participants will be able to remind themselves of the value of peace" and that "even if the particpants come from different nations and speak different languages, they all wish for peace."
