• The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will conduct a repatriation ceremony for the remains at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, 15th, in front of the Memorial Tower at the Daejeon National Cemetery with the participation of approximately 200 people, including Minister Park Min-shik, family members, members of the Heritage of Korean Independence, and students.
• This marks the first time that artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been used to restore the photos of independence activists interred abroad, which will be presented to their families. • Following the repatriation ceremony, an interment ceremony will be held at 12:30 PM in the 7th burial area for independence activists. This year, the remains of activists Hwang Ki-hwan and Chung Doo-ok will be repatriated, totaling 148 independence activists so far. • Minister Park Min-shik expressed his commitment to ensure that these heroes rest in peace with the highest honor and to continue the Ministry’s best efforts to repatriate the remains of independence activists buried abroad and hand on the spirit of independence to future generations. |
