• The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) will hold a ceremony to honor the repatriation of the remains of a Belgian Korean War veteran… The first remains of a veteran to return from Belgium and to be interred at the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea (UNMCK), Busan.
• Before passing away in February, the late veteran Léon Bosquet expressed his wish to be interred at UNMCK, saying "I want to rest with my fellow veterans of the Korean War." • Since 2015 (starting with French veterans), 19 individuals, including Léon Bosquet, have been interred posthumously. • Minister Park Min-shik stated, "Today in the Republic of Korea, we stand upon the foundation of the love for humanity and valor of the veterans of Korea and the 22 UN Sending States. We will repay and honor them through various international memorial activities." |
