The Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs of the Republic of Korea visits the United States of America and Canada

The Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs of the Republic of Korea visits the United States of America and Canada to strengthen cooperation in memorial projects for Korean War veterans on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War

-          The ROK Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will fund the establishment of the Wall of Remembrance to commemorate the American fallen heroes of the Korean War.

 

o  The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (MPVA) said that Minister Park Sam-Duck of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and other government delegation will visit the United States of America and Canada on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War to strengthen cooperation and coordinate efforts in memorial projects for the Korean War veterans with the UN sending states for 6 nights and 8 days starting from February 16 to February 23, 2020.

l  Minister Park Sam-Duck will make contributions worth KRW 2 billion to fund the establishment of the Wall of Remembrance in Washington, D.C. in an effort to convey sincere appreciation to the ultimate sacrifice of U.S. veterans who fought in the Korean War.

l  Moreover, the ROK Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will have an audience with Canadian Minister Lawrence MacAulay of Veterans Affairs and United States Secretary Robert Wilkie of Veterans Affairs to discuss areas of cooperation and coordinate efforts in memorial projects for the Korean War veterans on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War and share major veterans welfare policies and services including health care and benefits for veterans suffering from the tinnitus or illnesses caused by exposure to toxic defoliants.
