| Veterans Vice Minister to Visit Yeonpyeong Island to Encourage Marines and Console Veterans on the 18th | |

• Vice Veterans Minister Lee Hee-wan will visit the ROK Marine Corps’ Yeonpyeong Unit on Thursday the 18th to observe the situation at the waterfront and encourage marines.
• He will also pay visit to national merit recipients including Park Yeon-sun, a 90-year-old Korean War veteran residing alone in the remote island. • Vice Minister Lee Hee-wan stated that he is “grateful for the dedication of soldiers who are fully prepared” and that the Ministry will “repay the servicemembers at the front line of national security with various veterans policies”, as well as “thoroughly promote veteran policies that carefully consider and honor veterans and their families even in remote island areas”. |
