Korea Revisit for Commonwealth Korean War Veterans

The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs hosted 80 Korean War veterans from four commonwealth countries - the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand - and their families from April 24 to April 27 to express its gratitude for the commonwealth contribution during the Korean War. The veterans and families also had opportunities to experience the remarkable transformation of the country that was built on the veterans' noble contribution and sacrifice.

The activities planned for the Revisit participants include the Gapyeong Battle Commemoration on Monday, followed by the Anzac Dawn Service at the War Memorial of Korea, UN Korean War Veterans Memorial Service in the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Busan, Glostershire Battle Memorial Service with the Thank-You Banquet hosted by MPVA Minister culminating their visit.

On the sidelines of the main events, a photo donation ceremony was held at the United Nations Peace Memorial Hall. 30 pieces of David Douglas Duncan(1916~), an American photojournalist who is best known for his combat photographs, were donated to the United Nations Peace Memorial Hall in Busan. Mr Duncan’s photos had originally been published in Life magazine and helped raise awareness of the Korean War.
